Minor surgery
Removal of minor skin lesions, lumps and bumps.
Dr Yadav carry out a minor operations most weeks helped by one of our nursing team. We are able to remove
- skin lumps
- cysts
- moles
- ingrowing toenails
- skin tags
- warts
All the operations are done under local anaesthetic - in other words the area of skin that is to be operated on is frozen so you feel no pain but are fully awake. If you are concerned about a skin lump or wish to have it removed then please make an appointment with any of the Doctors with a view to this.
These procedures are carried out for medical reasons, we do not carry out procedures for cosmetic reasons.
On the day you will be asked to sign a consent form and children under 16 must attend with a parent or legal guardian as they will have to sign the consent form. This cannot be done by any other relative or friend.
Warts & Verrucas
Warts are harmless skin lesions which are very common and can resolve in time without any treatment. and is ofetn the best course of action.
We can remove warts that are causing problems by freezing them with liquid nitrogen. This is slightly uncomfortable and not recommended for small children. If you have a wart which you feel needs treatment please arrange to see a doctor.
If you have a verucca, you can make it more comfortable by rubbing down with something abrasive such sand paper. Verrucas, even if there are a lot, will go eventually but it may take a long time (1-5 years) but can be very difficult to treat. We generally do not treat veruccas with liquid nitrogen because treatment is hardly ever successful.
