Are you a Carer

Are You a Carer?

If you are please let us know - we may be able to help you

There is a wealth of information on the NHS website about carers and caring. Below are some links into the site that we hope you will find useful but also if you want to get in contact with local services please try Durham Carers Support and they have a few helpful guides DCCS_leaflet and Carer_info_booklet

Perhaps the best page to access is the GP Carers Register page because as the page says we keep a register of all patients that are caring for someone who is either unwell or disabled. This helps staff understand the condition of the person you care for and to look out for warning signs of illness that are common amongst Carers and helps those they care for. When registered we can look at flexible appointments, extra support, possible home visits and help with prescriptions. All registered carers are also eligible for free flu vaccinations.
